Professora Xan is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and serves as the co-head instructor of Atomic Jiu Jitsu Brisbane. She teaches every evening class, engaging directly with students from their first lesson onward in the world of BJJ Brisbane.
As both a qualified physiotherapist and an exercise scientist, Xan's expertise in movement, joint mechanics, and load management significantly informs how techniques are taught and how training intensity is structured within the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brisbane academy.
Having trained and competed since earning her white belt, her coaching focuses on technical efficiency, proper body positioning, and the safe application of pressure. Students learn how to train with control, maintain awareness of their training partners, and develop their skills in a Jiu Jitsu Brisbane setting without unnecessary physical risk.
Professora Xan plays a pivotal role in student development, helping beginners establish correct movement patterns early on while guiding experienced students toward precise and effective execution in their Brisbane Jiu Jitsu journey.

Professor Tim is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and co-head instructor of Atomic Jiu Jitsu Brisbane. He teaches all morning classes, and the majority of evening classes alongside Xan. He is directly involved with students from their very first session through to advanced training.
Tim's coaching centres on structured technical development. Classes are organised around clear positional understanding, pressure mechanics, and decision-making rather than random techniques. Students are taught not just what to do, but why movements work, when to apply them, and how to execute them reliably against resistance.
Professor Tim emphasises efficient body positioning, controlled application of force, and disciplined training habits. Beginners learn how to move safely and correctly from the start, while experienced students develop timing, precision, and the ability to apply techniques under pressure.
Training at Atomic Jiu Jitsu Brisbane is built around consistency and measurable improvement. Rather than short-term intensity, the goal is long-term progression — students are expected to understand positions, recognise patterns, and gradually build a dependable skillset that works in live rolling.
Tim works closely with Professora Xan to ensure students receive both high-level technical instruction and a structured pathway through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, from fundamentals to advanced practice and competition.
